Echo Convo Support
Echo Convo records your meetings and voice journal entries, turns them into a transcript, and writes a short summary with key points and action items. Everything is done on your iPhone. This page answers common questions and tells you how to reach us.
Contact us
- Email: support@jampodlabs.com
- We usually reply within 2 business days.
- When you write, please include your iPhone model, your iOS version, the Echo Convo version (Settings, then About in the app), and a short description of what happened. Please do not send recordings or transcripts unless we ask.
Getting started
- Open Echo Convo and allow the microphone and speech recognition when asked. Without these two permissions the app cannot record or transcribe.
- Choose Meeting or Journal, then tap the record button.
- Tap stop when you finish. The entry is saved first, and the summary is written in the background, so you can leave the app while it works.
- Open the entry to read the summary, key points, action items, and the full transcript.
Frequently asked questions
Is my audio or transcript sent anywhere?+
No. Recording, transcription, and summaries happen on your device. We do not run servers that receive your recordings or text, and we do not collect analytics or advertising data. The only network use is the optional one-time download of Echo Convo's model (see below), a StoreKit purchase handled by Apple, and links you open in your browser. See the Privacy Policy.
What do I need for summaries?+
Echo Convo uses Apple Intelligence where your iPhone supports it. If your iPhone does not support Apple Intelligence, the app can download Echo Convo's model, a small on-device model, so summaries still work. If neither is available, you still get a basic summary built from your transcript.
What is Echo Convo's model, and how big is the download?+
It is an optional on-device language model, built on Google's Gemma, that Echo Convo downloads once. It downloads over Wi-Fi only. You can see its status, download it, or remove it in Settings. You can delete it at any time to free the space.
Can I record online calls such as Zoom, Meet, or Teams?+
Yes. Use the call capture option on the Record tab. iOS asks you to start a screen broadcast, and Echo Convo captures the call audio from it. Only audio is used. Please make sure everyone on the call knows it is being recorded, as the law in your area may require consent.
Can I record in-person meetings?+
Yes. Choose Meeting and record with the iPhone microphone. Place the phone close to the people speaking for the best result.
Which languages are supported?+
You can pick the recognition language in the app, and you can choose the language of the summary when you use Summarize again. Available languages depend on your iPhone and iOS version. Echo Convo's model writes summaries in English and says so on the entry. Apple Intelligence can write in more languages where your device supports them.
The summary is wrong, too short, or in the wrong language. What can I do?+
Open the entry and tap Summarize again. You can choose the language and which engine to use. Each entry can be summarized again a limited number of times, and the app shows how many are left.
My long recording is still summarizing.+
Long recordings are split into parts and summarized one part at a time, and this can take several minutes. You can leave the app. If you stop the summary early, the entry is kept with a basic summary. Keep your iPhone charged and unlocked now and then for the fastest result.
Why did my recording stop?+
iOS stops recording when a phone call, alarm, Siri, or another app takes over the microphone. Echo Convo saves what was recorded up to that point and tells you what happened. Starting a new recording continues from there as a new entry.
What is the free limit, and what does Pro include?+
You can create up to 30 entries for free. Echo Convo Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and removes the limit and unlocks the Pro features listed on the upgrade screen. The price is shown in the app in your local currency. Deleting entries does not give entries back.
How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?+
Open the upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchases, while signed in to the same Apple Account you used to buy. If the price does not load, tap Reload price. Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are requested at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What are mood trends, and do they use my health data?+
Echo Convo can show the mood of a conversation and a journal mood, and trends over time. These are reflections to help you notice patterns. They are not medical advice and not a diagnosis. Reading Apple Health and Calendar signals is optional and off by default. You choose each signal separately in Settings and can switch it off at any time. Nothing from Health or Calendar leaves your iPhone.
How do I delete my data?+
Swipe an entry in the list, or open it, and choose Delete. This removes its audio, transcript, and summary from your iPhone. Deleting the app removes everything it stores on the device. Echo Convo has no account and no server copy, so there is nothing to delete elsewhere. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, deleting the app does not remove those backups.
Does Echo Convo work offline?+
Yes. Recording, transcription, and summaries work without a connection once the speech language is available on your iPhone. Downloading Echo Convo's model and checking the purchase price need a connection.
Troubleshooting
- No transcript appears: check Settings, then Echo Convo, and make sure Microphone and Speech Recognition are on. Check that the recognition language matches the language being spoken.
- Recording does not start: close other apps that use the microphone, then try again.
- Call capture records silence: start the broadcast from Echo Convo before the call begins, and make sure the call app is not muted. Some apps block audio capture during calls.
- Summaries never finish: open the entry and tap Summarize again. If you are using Echo Convo's model, check in Settings that it is downloaded and that your iPhone has free storage. Restarting the app also resumes unfinished summaries.
- The model will not download: it needs Wi-Fi and enough free storage. Try again on another network.
- Battery or heat during long summaries: this is expected for on-device models. Charging the iPhone helps.
- Price or purchase will not load: check your connection and the Apple Account, then tap Reload price.
Requirements
- iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
- Apple Intelligence is optional and improves summary quality where available.
- Free storage for recordings, and extra space if you download Echo Convo's model.
