Echo Convo keeps your recordings, transcripts, summaries and mood reads on your iPhone. We have no accounts, no servers that receive your content, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect your data, and we cannot see it.

What Echo Convo does with your information

Recordings and transcripts

When you record a journal entry or a meeting, the audio is saved in the app's private storage on your iPhone and transcribed on the device with Apple's on-device speech recognition. When you use Online Meeting capture (part of Echo Convo Pro), the audio of the call is captured through iOS's system broadcast, transcribed on the device, and then deleted.

Summaries

Summaries, key points, action items, tags and moods are written on your iPhone, by Apple's on-device language model where your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence, or by Echo Convo's optional on-device model. Your text is never sent to a server.

Vocal tone

Echo Convo measures simple properties of your own recordings, such as pace, pauses and pitch movement, and shows them as plain descriptions. This is a rough pattern. It is not a diagnosis, not an emotion detector and not medical advice. For calls and group recordings, it only describes the conversation as a whole. Echo Convo never identifies who is speaking, never builds voice prints and never profiles another person.

Moods

A mood on a journal entry is either the one you pick or an estimate made on your iPhone from your writing. A conversation mood describes how a meeting read as a whole. Neither is a diagnosis.

Mood trends and optional signals

Mood trends are written from your own entries. Only if you turn each one on, Echo Convo can also read sleep, step and exercise totals and State of Mind entries from Apple Health, and how busy your calendar was (and event titles, only if you separately allow it). Each has its own switch, its own explanation and its own iOS permission prompt, and each is off by default. You can also turn on saving Echo Convo's daily mood to Apple Health as a State of Mind entry. Health data stays on your iPhone, is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never stored in iCloud by Echo Convo.

Calendar, Reminders and notifications

If you turn on meeting reminders, Echo Convo reads upcoming events from Calendar on your iPhone and schedules local notifications. If you tap Create task on an action item, Echo Convo adds that item to Reminders. It does not read your existing reminders and never changes your calendar events.

Purchases

Echo Convo Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Apple. We receive no payment details or personal information.

Entry counter

To apply the free limit of 30 entries, Echo Convo keeps a single number in your iPhone's Keychain that counts how many entries you have ever created. It contains no personal information.

The one thing Echo Convo downloads

On an iPhone that cannot use Apple Intelligence, Echo Convo can download one file, the on-device summary model, from a public model host. This happens automatically over Wi-Fi the first time you open the app, unless you cancel it or turn it off in Settings, and you can also start or remove it yourself. The download is a request for a public file. It contains none of your data. The host will see the same technical information any website sees, such as your IP address, as part of the request. After the download, everything works offline.

What Echo Convo never looks at

Your location, your Photos library, your Contacts, Screen Time or app usage, the content of your notifications, your browsing history, voice prints or speaker identification, or emotional profiles of other people.

Sharing, retention and deletion

We do not collect your data, so we do not share, sell or keep any. Your entries stay on your iPhone until you delete them. Settings, Delete all data removes every entry, recording and mood read. Deleting the app removes everything stored by the app. Because we never receive your data, we cannot recover it. If you export an entry, it goes wherever you choose to send it using the iOS share sheet.

Recording other people

If you record or capture a conversation, you are responsible for telling the other people and for following the recording laws where you are. Many places require everyone's consent. Echo Convo asks you to confirm this before every recording.

Children

Echo Convo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date.
