Privacy Policy
DuePlan ("the app") helps you plan what people owe you and what you owe, import bank statements and payment screenshots, and match payments to the right person. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: your data stays on your phone. We run no server and do not collect, sell or share your data.
1. Information the app works with
You decide what goes into the app. It may hold:
- Contacts and businesses: names, phone numbers and UPI IDs you add, or that you choose to sync from your phone's contacts.
- Plans, payments and dues: amounts, dates, purposes, expense categories and notes you enter.
- Bank account details you enter: account names, bank names, last four digits, UPI IDs and daily/monthly limits. The app does not ask for your bank login, card numbers, PINs or passwords.
- Bank statements and CSV files you import: the rows are read on your phone, and the file itself is not kept.
- Payment screenshots and bill photos you choose: text is read on your phone to find amounts, dates and names. The images are not kept after reading.
- Backups you create: an encrypted file of the above.
2. Where your data is stored
All app data is stored in an encrypted database on your device. The app does not send it to us or to any server we run. We have no accounts and no way to see your data.
3. Permissions the app uses
- Contacts (optional): only if you choose to sync your contacts. It is used to fill in names and numbers on your device, and the contacts are not uploaded anywhere.
- Internet: used only for Google Play (billing and downloads) and for backup to Google Drive, if you turn it on.
- Photos and files: the app only opens files you pick yourself (statements, screenshots, bills, backup files) through the system file picker.
4. On-device processing
Text in screenshots, bills and statements is read on your phone by on-device text recognition. The optional on-device assistant, if you turn it on, also runs only on your phone and suggests matches that you confirm. Nothing is sent to an outside service for this.
5. Backups
- Google Drive (optional): if you connect your Google account, an encrypted backup is saved in a private folder (the "app data" folder) of your own Google Drive. DuePlan can only see that folder, never your other files. We cannot read or access it.
- Download or import (optional): you can save an encrypted backup file to your device and import it later.
- Backups are encrypted with a passphrase only you know. We cannot recover it. If you lose it, the backup cannot be opened.
- You can disconnect Google Drive at any time in Settings, and you can remove the app's access in your Google Account settings.
6. Purchases
If you buy a subscription, the purchase is handled by Google Play. We receive confirmation from Google Play that you have an active subscription. We do not see or store your payment card details. Google's privacy policy applies to Google Play.
7. Services that may process data
- Google Play services (billing, app delivery and, where you use it, Google Sign-In and Drive). These are governed by Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Google ML Kit text recognition, which runs on your device.
- Google Play Asset Delivery, used to download the optional assistant model.
The app has no advertising and no analytics or tracking services.
8. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone. The only things that leave your phone are what you choose to send: a payment QR or reminder message you share through another app, an encrypted backup you send to your Google Drive or save as a file, and a report you export as CSV.
9. Your choices and control
- Edit or delete any record inside the app.
- Disconnect Google Drive, delete your Drive backups, or delete a downloaded backup file at any time.
- Uninstalling the app removes its local data from your device. Backups you made on Drive or elsewhere remain until you delete them.
10. Security
Data in the app is stored in an encrypted database, and backups are encrypted with your passphrase. No method is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for keeping your phone locked and your passphrase safe.
11. Children
DuePlan is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will say so in the app or on the Play Store listing.
